Without one, yellow songthaews to Doi Saket depart from Warorot Market. Green songthaews from Warorot go to Mae Jo, to the northeast. Agree the fare before you board, because prices outside the city walls are negotiated.
If you do not drive and do not want to ride a songthaew every time, pick the Mae Jo side of San Sai. Doi Saket without a car means planning every trip around the truck.

Hospitals and clinics
Both districts have a community hospital on the HA register. Sansai Hospital’s latest accreditation runs from 27 May 2025 to 26 May 2028. Doisaket Hospital’s runs from 12 May 2026 to 11 May 2029.
Community hospitals handle everyday illness and minor injuries. In a government hospital most doctors speak English, but nurses and other staff are unlikely to.
For English at every step, go private. Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai has a team of interpreters and medical coordinators for expats, and its outpatient department is open 8:00 am to 8:00 pm every day. Floods and smoke
The Kuang River is the one to ask about. In August 2020 it overflowed its banks and overwhelmed the San Sai municipality overnight. In Doi Saket, Ban Pang Faen in Pamiang was named in 2017 as a village that could face flash floods from the Mae Kuang River. Deposit and your lease
For operators with three or more units, a term letting the landlord collect advance rent and deposit above three months of monthly rent is prohibited. That notification has been in force since 4 September 2025.
Not confirmed: Sansai Hospital and Doisaket Hospital: no bed count or English-language service is published, so call before you go. Songthaew: no timetable or fare is published, so ask the driver at Warorot. Flood exposure differs by estate: ask whether the house has flooded.
