押金与租约
交押金前先问清房东出租几套房子。如果房东出租三套及以上，租约里可能不能有允许他们收取超过三个月月租的预付租金和押金的条款。该公告自2025年9月4日起生效，少于三套房的房东不受约束。租赁合同指南、押金指南和租房指南会带你逐项核对。
空气与洪水
2月到4月是要提前安排的时段：3月在市区监测站平均约有27个雾霾天。杭东（Hang Dong）的房子不在市区的官方监测站，所以把监测站的数字当作参考，而不是你这条街的数字。烧荒季指南和空气质量说明了该怎么做。
烟是一个风险，雨是另一个。杭东（Hang Dong）是2024年清迈洪水中受灾的下游县之一，所以问房东房子有没有被淹过。
亲子去处：清迈夜间动物园（Chiang Mai Night Safari）
夜间动物园（Night Safari）是政府经营的园区，位于杭东县（Hang Dong）Nong Khwai 33 Moo 12，距市中心约10公里。11:00开门，售票处21:00关闭。
选游园车（Safari Tram）可以坐车加步行区一起玩：外国成人 1,200泰铢，儿童 600泰铢。只逛 Jaguar Trail 步行区是 400泰铢和 200泰铢。身高100厘米以下的儿童免费。夜间游园车每30分钟一班，全程约60分钟。
花园去处：拉查帕皇家花园（Royal Park Rajapruek）
拉查帕皇家花园（Royal Park Rajapruek）在市区（Mueang）的 Mae Hia，不在杭东（Hang Dong）。沿 Canal Road 往杭东方向开约10公里，右转进 Rajapruek Road 再开约2公里。从城里坐红色双条车和嘟嘟车也能到。每天 8:00–18:00 开放，外国成人门票 200泰铢。

Which area in CM would you say has the most western foreigners? As the title says, which area in Chiang Mai has the most western residents? I know that there are a lot of westerners living in Hang Dong but they are mostly near to/or at retirement age as far as my knowledge goes. DO correct me if I'm wrong. Nimman used to have a lot of Digital Nomads from the west under the age of 30/35 but it seems a lot have left. The condo projects near Central Festival are flooded with Koreans and Chinese. Have western foreigners left Chiang Mai in large numbers this past year or have they found a new area?

I live in Santitham and we are quite a few foreigners in thay are. This area is a mix of locals and foreigners, amazing place. The only ick is that well…there are no footpath, you can dozens of bikes passing just cm from you.

I will be moving to Chiang Mai this July to teach in an International School. What are the tips or places I should go first? Btw, I will be located at Hang Dong :)

Lots of coffee shops are around Hangdong area. Downside being very limited food after 10pm. Also, check out Cocoon! Great place to hangout, swim, steam and ice bath for a very cheap price.

Hang Dong vs Nimman Hey guys looking to move to Chiang Mai in the later half of the year. I tend to like things a bit more quiet. The plan is to work & study Thai, gym etc, during the week and leave Fridays and Saturdays for going out for food and drinks.. Just wanted everyone's pros and cons on Nimman & Hang Dong as places to live. Thanks in advance

I think you’d be very bored in hang dong. Maybe consider suthep area around CMU, more quiet/green, quick access to the mountain hiking trails but also much more convenient to get into town on weekends.

This. Anywhere outside of Niman you need to get wheels or accept you will take lots of taxis. I live in Hang Dong with my family, there are many caffes and restaurants and bars but so many good places in the city or Niman don’t deliver here. I second looking into Suthep area it has a great vibe

Maybe not as big as Houston, but Chiang Mai is pretty large, with many suburban areas spread out around muang. Census figures suggest 1.3 million, but that doesn't include the hoards if monthly tourists. I think currently about 100,000 in Hang Dong, but HD is spread out over a large area. How long will you be staying in the Chiang Mai area, or Thailand? Are you looking to buy a motorcycle or rent one?
