乘坐火车
请前往阿皮瓦中央火车站（Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal），而不是华喃峰车站（Hua Lamphong），因为往北部的长途列车均由该站发车。站台信息请查看站内发车大屏。时刻表和票价可能调整，安排行程前请先在D-Ticket上查询具体日期的班次。
在D-Ticket订票
特快、快速和旅游列车可在D-Ticket上提前最多180天预订，发车前3小时停止售票。请务必打印纸质车票，乘车时需要出示。普通列车、市郊列车和地方列车不支持网上订票。
车票行程可以改签任意多次，但不能更改乘客姓名，发车前3天内的改签手续费会明显上涨。建议尽量用银行卡支付：退款会在45天内原路退回，而通过PromptPay二维码支付的退票必须前往火车站柜台办理。旅游列车车票不可退票。
确认列车是否正常开行
此前那空沙旺府的洪水曾导致北线部分路段关闭，曼谷至清迈的过夜列车也曾停运。你可以在ttsview.railway.co.th上查询列车运行状态，或随时拨打热线1690咨询。若你的列车停运，可在任一SRT火车站办理全额退款。

乘坐大巴
BKS VIP大巴是国营试点线路，全车设24个空调一等座。全长713公里，每天两班。大巴于傍晚从Mo Chit 2的2号站台发车，车上配备USB与Type-C充电接口和免费Wi-Fi。由于未公布抵达时间，次日早晨不要安排紧凑的行程衔接。车站详情与市内接驳请见清迈客运站与火车站指南。
乘坐飞机
从素万那普机场（BKK）出发票价约900泰铢起，从廊曼机场（DMK）出发约1,100泰铢起，实际价格会浮动。泰国狮航、泰国亚洲航空、泰国国际航空、泰国越捷航空和曼谷航空均执飞该航线。请提前2到3小时到达机场，手提行李重量限7公斤以内。
从清迈机场到市区
固定价格出租车柜台位于主航站楼1号门，营业时间为7:00–0:00，上车前即可获知确切车费。打表出租车在计价器金额基础上加收50泰铢，23:00收车。在机场各处均可使用Grab打车，但必须前往国内航站楼停车场的指定上下车点乘车。A1和A2路穿梭巴士票价为40泰铢。更多交通方式可查看清迈机场到市区指南。

You'll get plenty of comments from people who don't like anything fun, telling you to just fly. I say: Do it, if only for the experience! First class sells out really fast though, but for the experience, take the open plan second class AC carriages, they're perfectly fine.

I would take the shittiest train imaginable over a bus anytime. That being said, the sleeper trains are great. I would advise bringing a sleep mask because the lights don't go off, and earplugs because it can be somewhat noisy. Get a lower birth. Larger, and you have a window. And the sleepers to Chiang Mai book up early.

Chiang Mai to Bangkok: sleeper bus or sleeper train? I’m trying to decide how to get from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. One option is a “Super VIP” sleeper bus that leaves at 21:00 and is a two-story bus. The other option, listed as a “best seller,” is a 13-hour train with either a second-class sleeper or first-class sleeper. Is the bus ride relaxed and quiet? I know in Vietnam all driver constantly honk all the time Are these actually sleepers, and which one is more comfortable? On the train, would I have to share a cabin? Has anyone tried both the sleeper bus and sleeper train and can say which one was better?

train. Get first class and book both bunks so it’s private if you are solo. You won’t see much but it’s an experience

How far away is your travel date? I think they recently changed the advance booking limit to 90 days, so if it’s more than 3 months away, that might be why.

OK for the tenth time on reddit, I will post the situation regarding the Bangkok to Chiang Mai and vice versa first class sleeper train. This comes from my brother in law who is an SRT manager. Firstly SRT can sell all first class sleeper berths in house. No need to pay commission to the likes of 12go. A normal train has 1 first class carriage with 22 cabins and 44 berths. Now comes the kicker. Only 10 percent are released on line in the advanced 90 day window. So 5 berths on line per day. Allocation is 10 percent on line. 50% at Bang Sue. 30 % at Don Muang. 10 % Ayuttaya. So you can see the secret is to have some one prepared to queue up as the berths are released at either of the stations named. And yes the stations named accept the 90 day advance booking in person.

It's just a tiny room with 2 bunk beds and if you're solo you'll be sharing with a stranger Unfortunately the stranger got the bottom bunk and I had a horrible sleep lol I did 2nd class before and it's honestly not much different since you have a curtain for privacy

Is the Bangkok to Chiang Mai overnight train worth it? I'm planning to go from Bangkok to Chiang Mai next month. I’ve read about the overnight sleeper train and it sounds like a cool experience, but is it worth it? Or am I better off just taking a quick domestic flight to save time?

For me personally taking the night train in Thailand was one of the most romantic and scenic experiences. Especially if you can get your hands on a private compartment (need to book a lot in advance). The food they serve on the train is delicious and it's just so cozy to go to sleep in a moving train. would do it again 10/10!!

Book well in advance if you want a bed instead of just a chair. I was out of luck 4 weeks in advance.
