  1. 填写TM.7申请表。

I have a visa now, the only time I’ve ever been stopped was otw back from Bali in DMK they told me it had been ‘too many times’. I asked how many times is too many times, they said ‘less than you have right now’. They asked some question, I answered in really awful Thai, they didn’t ask about money, just intentions. She made me book a departure flight there and told me next time i will be sent away so I need to get a visa. I booked my flight to Another destination (not my home country) and once I showed confirmation, they wrote something in my passport and then let me in. I didn’t try to get an extension that time, I was freaked out and just left the day before my visa exemption expired. The only thing I think was different to the million other times was that I looked frazzled, no make up, backpacker style clothes, flip flops and a bulging bag plus a carry on.. I came back a few months later, no visa, white linen clothing and it was fine. Appearance and attitude really really matters here.

It depends on so many factors. There are guidelines for IO to follow regarding number of days stayed per year, entries, extensions etc. If you rock up with multiple visa exemption stamps and extensions - expect a hard time. If you only have Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand stamps in your passport, also expect a hard time. If the IO didn’t like the look of you (literally) you might get asked for proof of 20k or onward flight. Don’t use it and height not let you in - he can do that. If you go there with over 180 days and multiple extensions you should be getting a visa. And so you should if you want to spend more than half the year only country that requires it. First impressions are key. If you look like you can’t afford to be there, you might well be asked if you can. I get that it ca be frustrating that there doesn’t seem to be hard and fast rules, but it works more in people’s favour than there isn’t - many get through by being courteous, looking like you ca afford to be there within their guidelines. If you go there knowing you don’t really comply, accept the risk, go somewhere or get a visa. If you can’t afford the visa requirements you shouldn’t be looking to live here for months at a time

Forth time is the charm or will my entry be denied? Hey everyone, I’d really appreciate some insight from people who know Thai immigration better than I do. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Thailand over the last year: * Dec last year: 3 weeks * Mar–May this year: 7 weeks * Aug–Sept this year: 7 weeks (I also left for a week and came back) * And now I plan to come again for 5 weeks starting December 10 Every stay has been for tourism. I’ve never overstayed, never worked illegally, and I always left before my stamp ran out. For this upcoming trip, I have: A booked return ticket to Switzerland Allmost all accommodations booked (Krabi, Chiang Mai, Bangkok) Will I be let trough or should apply for some kind of Visa?

I would apply for a tourist visa or DTV if you qualify in your case, you likely will get a hard time for spending so much time on exemptions in-country and the risk to not get let in is real.

    2. Skrim

I doubt they'll issue you with a multiple entry tourist visa at this point. You've already spent a lot of time in Thailand. And even if they did, there's a good chance that Immigration would look at a 6 month visa and conclude that you are trying to abuse the tourist visa system. A regular tourist visa might do the trick though. At this point they'll probably start to worry about what you're doing for a living. And yes, they're used to off-shore workers having similar travel patterns but they might not believe that of you, based on your passport. But yeah, a regular single entry tourist visa is probably your best bet here. That'll give you 60 days, just like an exemption would but it looks a bit cleaner. A visa is not a guarantee but you haven't made a nuisance of yourself yet either. They might wish to ask you what you're doing in Thailand though.

    3. Skrim

Yeah, several shorter stays is usually fine but when it becomes too frequent over a pronged period they'll start growing suspicious that you might be working illegally. A DTV should solve those issues for you, if this is a travel pattern you intend to carry on with. The main focus of the current Immigration crackdown is to root out people working illegally in Thailand, ie. opening shops or running Thailand facing businesses.

I usually enter visa exempt, recently entered with a pre-approved visa… Be prepared for all the questions even with the pre-approved visa, especially about your flight out…
