夜市 (Night Bazaar)：TSL清迈
想要每月都开班的泰语小组课，就选TSL。小组课每月24小时3,600泰铢，高级班和精通班3,900泰铢，强化小组课每月72小时9,900泰铢。课程在每个月的第一周开课，每间教室5到15名学生。报名时问问哪个时段人少，因为一个班可能只有3人，也可能有15人。几乎每个级别每个月都开班。
私教课在学校上是30小时15,000泰铢，在线上是13,500泰铢。
一年期ED课程，TSL收费55,000泰铢，并要求每个90天学习期内出勤率至少80%。学校的办公室会帮你准备ED申请和延期的材料，并在约30到45天内拿到教育部的批文和录取通知书。
在清迈入境管理局办延期，TSL要求提供有效的TM30住宿报告和有效的租赁合同，学校会在到期前约2周准备好材料。签证签发和延期从来不是自动的，ED咨询的年龄上限是50岁。
TSL还有DTV文化课程，9个月45,000泰铢或12个月55,000泰铢，另加10,000泰铢签证费。报名不保证获批；规则见DTV签证指南（英文）。

夜市 (Night Bazaar)：We Learn Thai
We Learn Thai和TSL同在Pantip Plaza，可以一次看完两家，想短期、便宜地突击一下，可以从这里开始。强化课是3周45小时，每天3小时，每班最多8人，收费5,990泰铢。
轻松班进度慢一些，每模块30小时，每天2小时、每周4天，每级4,500泰铢。学生可以小组课和私教课搭配上，学校还办社交和文化活动。有免费1小时试听课，ED签证泰语课程从3个月到1年。
它的页面上没有印ED签证价格，所以交钱前要一份书面报价。如果你想要一个公开标价的一年期ED价格来比较，就别选它。营业时间是周一到周五10:00–18:00，周六10:00–16:00，周日休息。

宁曼 (Nimman)：Pro Language School
Pro Language是读一年ED签证泰语课的便宜路线。清迈校区6个月小组课18,700泰铢，12个月29,600泰铢，前台工作人员回复快、好联系。
这些价格不含使馆签证费和入境管理局的延期费，所以每次延期再加1,900泰铢。要早点开始，因为这个校区的教育部流程可能要6到8周。你先拿到90天的ED签证盖章，之后每90天延期一次，直到课程结束。招收12至65岁的学生。人在国外可以用泰国E-Visa系统在线申请；如果你已经在泰国，转签证的条件各地不同，要问学校。
如果需要快速开始ED签证，考虑到要等6到8周，就别选它；需要周日上课，也别选它。学校在Nimmanahaeminda Road，周一到周六9:00–18:00营业，步行3到5分钟到Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center。

辉凯奥 (Huay Kaew)：清迈大学语言学院
想要大学校园，又想选上午、下午或晚上时段，就选语言学院。课程在主校区上课，地址是239 Huay Kaew Road，周一到周五，6个月课程每周6小时。目前的6个月学费和下一期开课时间要问学校，因为网上公布的数字已经过时了。
短期课程的话，15天会说泰语是每天3小时，收费9,000泰铢。课程附带由大学担保、最长1年的非移民教育签证，签证材料办理要5到7个工作日。CMU要求每月出勤率至少80%。最高年龄是60岁，人数达不到最低开班要求时，CMU可能会取消课程。
想要周末上课，就别选它，因为CMU没有周末课程；超过60岁，也别选它。办公室周一到周五8:30–17:00营业。

瓦吉 (Wat Ket)：Effective Thai Language School
Effective Thai 以小班和1对1教学为主，如果你不想坐在十个人的班里，可以选它。小班是 2 到 6 名学生，10 节 50 分钟的课是 2,750泰铢。一对一同样的 10 节课是 5,500泰铢。新的小班每月开课，近来有学生称赞老师讲解清楚、有耐心。

Hang Dong：Lanna Language School
Lanna 的泰语课按套餐卖，按课时算预算最方便。团体课 10 次 4,000泰铢，30 次 11,500泰铢。每节课 2 小时，每周两次，所以 10 次就是 20 小时。私教课每小时 400泰铢，30 小时 11,500泰铢，近来很多学生选私教。老师对学得慢的学生也很有耐心。
一年期教育签证套餐，团体班 43,000泰铢，私教班 76,000泰铢，不含政府费用。Lanna 获泰国教育部认证，全日制学生可能符合最长 1 年签证的申请条件。学校有 6 间教室，每间最多容纳 12 人。

怎么去
在市区内，红色双条车 (songthaew) 一直保持每人 30泰铢，把地址里的路名给司机看就行。TSL 和 We Learn Thai 都在 Pantip Plaza，Pro Language 和 Language Institute 都在 Nimman 和 Suthep 一侧。Hang Dong 在市区外，确认前先在打车软件里查一下价格。
报名前先了解 ED 签证
非移民 ED 签证发给希望入境泰国学习的人。入境时，持证人可能获准停留不超过 90 天。延期停留费用为 1,900泰铢，不予退还。
获准临时停留的外国人必须每九十天向入境官员报告住址。Central Festival 服务点办理教师和学生的延期。法律规定见泰国教育签证指南。
六个月该办哪种签证
DTV 持证人每次入境可停留 180 天，并可申请一次 180 天延期，所以 DTV 可以覆盖六个月，不用走 90 天报到循环。ED 签证先给 90 天停留，之后每 90 天延期一次，直到课程结束。Pro Language 和 Lanna 的价格都不含政府费用，所以要在学费之外为每次延期预留 1,900泰铢。
课程期间离开泰国
离境前先办再入境许可，否则会失去停留许可。单次再入境许可 1,000泰铢，多次的 3,800泰铢。

There is law firm offering me an ed visa for half the usual price 14k bath for a year in chiang mai, legit prices? Seems fishy, the other schools in bkk are 30k+ This ones says online ok and is half the price because its a promotiom. Is there a bulletproof way to identify scammers?

Let's think about it... Law firm. Education Visa. Is the law firm hiring you as a student? If so, then it's valid. It not, then run as far away as possible. Please don't abuse the ED visa system.

ED visas require in-person attendance and it will be checked. If you abuse the fake system and they find out, enjoy not getting a visa again. False ED visas will disqualify you from all long-term visas (LTR, Smart, Elite, Retiree) and you may even have trouble with future Tourist visas. If you do an ED visa, do it at one of the approved schools and attend.

If it is legit it doesn’t include all the extra fees such as like the 90 day renewals or textbooks. Realistically expect to pay 40-50k total, then an additional fee if applying within the country instead of overseas which then has a application fee itself. The bulletproof way is, no school building, no proof of students studying, no proof of student progress, half the cost or less than reputable schools = scam or a shady AF business.

It's a scam. To begin with you are not allowed to do online classes, it has to be in person. So just the fact that they say online is ok, means it's not legit.

You don’t buy a sandwich without the slices of bread. The tutoring and 2k visa fees for the ‘ED Visa’ are a combined deal. Representing the cost for an ‘ED Visa’ as $2k/baht is misleading. It’s pretty clear what OP meant and is shopping based on an inclusive price. You absolutely have fees to extend the initial 90 days for an extra 90 days out to the full year. Many schools do not include these fees in a move to appear cheaper while other more seemingly expensive courses do. The only extra fees from a good school are the re-entry fees if you choose to come and go from Thailand (1900b from memory). There will be a gotcha if OP has 14k/b cash in hand and intends to stay for a year. I’d bet 14k on that!

I got the book "How to Read Thai in 10 Days" was actually very helpful and surprisingly.... it worked. However it doesn't really teach you vocabulary. I used "Hello Talk" app for awhile. Peopel there are friendly. After I got the basic down I used "Glossika" which tbh... is kind of boring but actually amazing if you stick with it. Just running through sentences over and over again so you can learn the grammar patterns and some native-like phrases.

Strongly recommend ‘Read Thai in 10 Days’. It takes longer than 10 days but you will find pronunciation much better after completing the book. Learn to read and write Thai first before learning the language as it makes things much easier. Afterwards I used Mondly which is good for learning words, sentences and listening.
