- 年均收入达到每月至少40,000泰铢,所以光有一个月收入高不算数;
- 泰国银行账户中至少有400,000泰铢,且过去2个月一直保有;

- 申请表和护照复印件;
- 婚姻记录复印件:在泰国登记的用 Kor Ror 2(คร.2),在国外登记的用 Kor Ror 22;
- 配偶泰国国籍的证明,例如身份证或户口本复印件;
- 走资金途径的,提供泰国商业银行的存款证明和账户复印件,或收入材料,例如带收据的报税表、养老金记录或存款利息证明;
- 确认配偶关系的签字声明;签字人无法签字时,可由家庭成员等可信人士口头说明;

Looking for other long-term visa options to remain in Thailand Currently, I'm on the marriage visa to remain in Thailand (for the past 10+ years), but my stupid bank has a new rule that they will hold my money ransom for 4 months each time I apply for the visa. It's criminal! So now, I need to come up with a plan B to avoid all that nonsense. Here's the problem -- I don't make a lot of money, I don't own any assets in Thailand. So, I can't do any of the "rich man" visas. That just leaves me the education visa and the work permit visa, as far as I understand it. But I actually have a job online, so I can't just upend my whole schedule to do another full-time job or commit a bunch of hours of every week. Anyone know of an easy option to get a long-term visa so that I can remain in Thailand but not have to dramatically change my weekly schedule?

* 4-Month Rule: As of July 2025, Bangkok Bank requires funds for bank balance certificates to be maintained for 4 months, not just the 2 months required by immigration, or the funds will be locked for an additional 4 months. Ahh look OP is not keeping the money in the account over the year (I personally never touch it) and then he gets locked for additional 4 months. SO if he would just keep the 400 or 800k in the bank account over the year they wouldn't lock him.

It would be easier to switch banks. I don't have that issue with Krungthai (Blue emblem with white bird). If a new bank is out of the question for some reason, DTV would likely be your best bet.

1. Can't apply until the money's been in the bank for two months already. 2. Copy of your wife's blue book (tabien baan). 3. Copy of your lease, the landlord's ID card and their blue book. 4. Copy of your latest TM47 (although they don't always ask for this). 90 day report has to be done in person first time around, then you can do it online subsequently.

Getting married to a Thai woman I understand if you are working in Thailand (and thus have a Work Permit) and then you decide to get married to a Thai lady and change your visa type to Thai Wife visa, you will have to exit the country and get a Thai Wife visa and then return, because the nature of your visa changes. Is this still strictly the case? Is there perhaps a legal workaround for it, or you really have to leave and take a risk whether everything will go smoothly and you can come back?

You don't need to change your visa. Getting married on a work visa is fine. If you stop working and want to change your visa you may have to leave .

It can be. You can still work on a marriage visa. If you lose your job, you can still stay in the country on the marriage visa while you pursue other work. That's not the case with a Non-immigrant B.
mironawire
I was on a Non-immigrant B work visa before changing to a Non-immigrant O marriage visa. I wanted the security of not having to leave the country if I lost my job for whatever reason. I switched to Non O visa without leaving the country. All done at immigration with the correct paperwork, of course. Anyone else in this thread with conflicting information has obviously not done this before and is just making shit up.

Yes, but it's not necessarily a renewal. You are essentially applying for a brand new visa each year, requiring all the same paperwork each time. You take all relevant documents to immigration and apply for the Non-immigrant O marriage visa. They will then process the application which takes about 4 weeks, at which point they may come to your residence to check on your marital status. If all goes well, you get the full year visa at that point. I have not personally had an immigration officer visit the house, but it could happen.
