巴士全天两个方向都有车，可以挑适合你的时段。时间可能变动，订票前查一下你出发那天。

清莱一日游看什么
Wat Rong Khun，白庙
先来这里，因为它关门最早。慢慢走过通往白色主殿的长桥：白色代表纯洁，桥代表从轮回走向觉悟。找找水上的金色象神殿下，还有带石雕的艺术洞。
这座庙还在建，艺术家Chalermchai Kositpipat计划用60到70年建九座建筑。这里没有僧人居住，所以别指望这是一座在运作的寺院。

Wat Rong Suea Ten，蓝庙
把蓝庙留到当天晚些时候，因为它开到20:00。走进蓝色的戒堂，抬头看高6.5米的大佛像。这座庙由Chalermchai的一位学生重建，所以风格和白庙一样张扬。

Baan Dam，黑庙
这里是一片建筑群，不是一栋房子。艺术家Thawan Duchanee在超过25栋黑色建筑里放满了兽皮和兽角。看完两座明亮的庙再来这里，感觉很不一样，所以很多人喜欢它。

如果还有时间，Singha Park是个农场兼茶园，离白庙约4公里。坐农场观光车游览，观光车在50泰铢门票之外另收150泰铢。直接去就行，不能提前预订，观光车从09:00起每15分钟一班。

什么时候去、要多久
坐07:00的巴士，先看白庙和黑庙，最后到蓝庙。白庙17.00或17.30关门，所以别把它留到最后。

- 订巴士票Greenbus最多可提前30天订票，订票时确认你出发那天的发车时间和价格。
- 在Arcade 3号站上车Greenbus从清迈巴士3号站（Arcade）发车。上车地点在订单上确认。
- 确认到达地点07:00的巴士大约10:45到清莱巴士1号站。到达地点可能有变化，看一下你的车票。
- 赶末班车回程末班车18:30从清莱出发。

Yes you can rent a car, no driving isn’t that hectic. Around Chiang Rai I’d say hit the mountain villages, Mae Salong, Pha Mee and Pha Hee. Eat Yunnan and Akha foods. Go up to the Burma border at Mae Sai and explore the market and eat Burmese food. There’s a lot of hikes all around the mountains as well. The drive up to Doi Chang is pretty cool and the views from the ridge are rad. If you go out the north end of the Wawee Valley it’s a lot less developed and there’s a cool morning market full of Hilltribe foods.

If you enjoy spending three hours to join a conveyor belt of tour buses for a 30-minute lap around a very photogenic temple… then absolutely 😄 That said, Chiang Rai is definitely worth your time, just not as a rushed day trip. Stay a couple of days and you’ll find a completely different rhythm: quieter temples, local cafés, countryside drives, and far fewer crowds. The real charm of Chiang Rai is everything beyond the White Temple.

If you do go, my wife and I really enjoyed Baan Dam Museum which is nearby. The vibes are much darker, so look into it first to confirm it's up your alley, but we loved it. Would recommend around 2 hours to avoid rushing it

By itself, absolutely not But Chiang Rai is an amazing city. Go for an overnight or two day trip. Do the White Temple, Red Temple, other temples. Do the Blue Temple IF you’re in the area, but be aware that it’s tacky as shit Also check out Chivit Thammada if you like river vibes. It is not cheap, but it’s a nice place to have a coffee

I was at a wedding in Chiang Rai and we all went afterwards. It was definitely cool, but I think we only spent like 30min there. Once you walk around it and pay to walk through it, that’s about it, then you leave. I guess that can be said for most temples though. Idk if it’s worth the 3hr drive alone, but it’s worth it if you make a whole day trip of other things in China Rai. Honestly (and this might be a hot take), my biggest talking point about it is the 9/11 painting to the left when you walk in. I understand the symbolism, but I just wasn’t expecting that.
