清迈安全与骗局：电话与常见陷阱
报警打191，叫救护车打1669，旅游警察打1155。要提防的陷阱有：陌生人说景点关门、店家拿你的护照当摩托车押金、饮料被下药 和ATM侧录。如果被骗，打1155，或去机场的诈骗受理处。

清迈是座轻松的城市，唯一值得记住的一条是：别理会任何说景点今天关门的陌生人，这种套路在素贴山 (Doi Suthep) 一带被报告过。落地之前，先往手机里存三个号码：报警191，救护车1669，旅游警察1155。下面其余的陷阱大多在泰国各地都会遇到。

叫救护车先打1669。如果打不通，就打191，要求派救护车。涉及游客的事，比如诈骗或护照丢失，都打1155。
要亲自去的话，清迈府治县旅游警察局在196, Sriwichai Alley, Chang Phueak, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50300。这里24小时开放，也可以先打 +66 53 212 147 问一下。

常见骗局和陷阱
“今天关门”的宝石店套路
在大景点外面，比如素贴寺 (Wat Phra That Doi Suthep)，有陌生人告诉你那里因为仪式或维修关门了。接着就说可以带你去“特别的寺庙”，或者去所谓的政府宝石店，说免税特卖只限今天。据说那些店里的员工会用假的GIA证书、在宝石上做手脚，还威胁叫警察，逼你付钱。
直接走到售票口问工作人员，或者相信旅行指南或网上写的开放时间。没有哪家宝石店是泰国政府或王室经营或资助的，所以“政府特卖”永远是假的。
嘟嘟车和出租车的绕路
上车就说清楚你要去的具体地点，拒绝任何绕路。便宜的观光路线往往最后停在宝石店。打车软件的对比见清迈 Grab 与 Bolt 对比。
摩托车和摩托艇押金
不要把护照交给摩托车或摩托艇出租方当押金。店家可能以所谓车损为由扣着不还，所以改给护照资料页的复印件或现金押金。
骑车前先给车拍照，把照片留着。旅游区很多出租的踏板车没有登记，不能合法上路，所以要确认你的旅行保险保你，并仔细看租车合同里关于排量和驾照要求的小字。没有有效驾照骑车，出事故后保险可能失效。
喝酒和夜生活
杯子不要离手，陌生人的饮料不要接。泰国各地的旅游区都有饮料被下药的事，男女都可能遇到。出门前先把回家的车订好，免得最后只能上无证车辆。含甲醇的廉价烈酒在泰国已经造成过死亡和重病。
银行卡、ATM和包
付款全程都让卡在视线内，用银行里的ATM，输入密码时遮住，因为发生过侧录。小心骑摩托车的抢包贼，坐嘟嘟车这类敞篷交通工具时格外注意。离开柜台前先数清找零，对开口借钱应急的“新朋友”也要警惕。
无证经营者的旅游套餐
付钱前先在 www.dot.go.th (在新标签页中打开) 上查旅行社的执照。有一个案例，32名游客到清迈机场参加套餐游，却发现乘客名单上没有他们的名字。他们每人付了24,000泰铢，总损失超过800,000泰铢。这家经营者借用了另一家无关公司的执照，收款打进了个人账户。
工作机会
对海外高薪工作的承诺要警惕。有人就是听信这种承诺来到泰国，然后被非法带到邻国。
新来者容易踩的法律
在公共场所吸烟违法，罚款最高5,000泰铢。电子烟更严重：在泰国持有或使用任何电子烟、烟弹、烟油或加热不燃烧设备都违法。电子烟违规可能被没收，罚款通常为5,000–30,000泰铢，还可能被拘留和上法庭。
警察可能会要求看你的护照。如果没带在身上，可能被要求在24小时内到警察局出示，通常有资料页的复印件就够了。
去哪里报案
在城里，从任何地方都可以打1155，24小时开通。也可以走到上面说的警察局。门口上方挂着泰文和英文的牌子。
遇到诈骗，旅游诈骗预防与援助局的清迈中心在清迈国际机场 (Chiang Mai International Airport)，电话 +66 53 281 438-9。它属于旅游体育部，帮助遭遇诈骗的游客。
如果你被骗了
先找旅游警察，亲自去或打1155。如果你想报案，他们可以帮你联系普通泰国警察。遇到宝石骗局后，要向警方正式报案，并让人把报案记录翻译成英文。如果是刷卡付的钱，马上告诉发卡公司，问这笔钱能不能争议或止付。

This scam bar has operated in the same location in Chiang Mai for 10 years, what will it take for something to be done? For over 10 years, this same location has notoriously assaulted, robbed, and scammed tourists & thais alike in Chiang Mai. There are even rumors of murders occurring here. Police are intimately familiar with it, and regularly “negotiate deals” with scammed victims while ensuring the scam machine continues to operate. My question is what would it theoretically take to get this sort of criminal operation shut down for good? Is it simply out of the question due to police corruption? The bars current name is “67 bar”, with many recent reports of tourists being extorted & assaulted for 50,000+ baht. This is not the only scam clip joint of its type in chiang mai, but it seems to be the most brazen and prominent. IIRC lucky club isn't a scam right? It's just an "after party" club. It's pretty shabby inside but they don't steal your money

I went once and it was indeed shabby. We had one drink at a fair price and left. There were homeless people sleeping in the men's room. Many tourists from Africa and India, some of which, were a bit drunk and aggressive. My Thai friends say the club has been around "forever" with police in the background.

This is no way the same thing as what OP is describing from the CM karaoke. It’s an after hour bar where you can sit and drink beer. You won’t get overcharged by default. I know many people that went there and never been scammed. Drunk people will call scam being charged for drinks they forgot they ordered.

Yup. I've been scammed in the same bar. I have ordered 1 beer for myself and 1 for member of the staff 220 per beer according to menu. Drank it quickly and asked for bill after 5 minutes of stepping in. Still got 10k B bill. Paid 3k after negotiations and police on the line.

The main culript that nobody talks about are the tuktuk drivers. Because tourists in most of the cases don't enter these bars on their own foot. Is the tuktuk drivers that approach them on the street to ask them if they "want to party". They lurk mostly outside Loi Kroh road, and because bars here close at 2am, drunk tourists go out and they may still have energy for a drink. Tuktuk drivers convince them and bring them to karaoke bars.

Yup, got scammed and pretty sure i got drugged there in 2024. I was stupid enough to leave my friends drunk late at night and asked a tuktuk driver where to go. Went inside alone. I was the only customer and had a woman sit with me in the karaoke room. Thought I would just have a beer or two and go home. Was only halfway done with my beer when I slouched down and could not move. Something like that has never happened when i have been out other places. While I was half asleep they took the 8000 in cash i had, and demanded 30.000 baht from my credit card. They physically held me up and made me tap my card. Multiple lessons learned, thats for sure.

Stolen Iphone Got my phone robbed right out of my hand in San Kamphaeng, Chiang Mai 50 meters away from santai muay thai gym. Around 4:30 - 5:45 AM Feb 16. By a Thai Guy around the age 25-33 wearing a black hoodie. He was on a black scooter I did not see the register plate .My thai gym trainers have tried to help me locate it but he has turned off the phone so we could not see location. We even checked CCTV at the corner store where it happened but no success yet. It is a Red and Black Iphone 13 with a yellowish silicione case. The screen protection has little cracks in it. If anybody sees it on facebook marketplace or anything please let me know. I am from Sweden so this phone is my lifeline.

Contact Thai tourist police at 1155 or Tourist Police I lert U app, they speak English.

If you can ever get an update on it's location, try showing the police immediately. I had a pretty good experience with Thai police when a family member's IPad was stolen (at school), we had a location (Find my IPad) but it was vague, the police tried finding it based on the vague (moving) location we had on it. They searched a house... found nothing. (I felt bad thinking it might be the wrong house). Over a month later it finally updated it location, 30 km away. Called the police, showed the location they found it at a used phone shop. They got it back from the shop owner and found the seller. Turns out it was the right house they searched before! The police negotiated a settlement, and asked us how much we want in compensation (they recommended 10,000 baht for us + 10,000 baht for them), we just took the IPad, no compensation, and let the police take a 10,000 baht fee from the thiefs.
