Old City: Khao Soi Khun Yai

If you sleep inside the moat and want one bowl of khao soi, I’d start here. The shop serves lunch from 10 AM to 2 PM and is closed on Sunday. It sits in Sri Poom 8 Alley, almost directly across from Wat Lok Molee.

Come before 11 AM if you want beef or chicken: by 11:45 the pot can already be almost sold out, and a diner who arrived at 12:45 was left with only pork. A bowl of chicken khao soi cost one diner THB 60 in September 2026. The shop serves for only about 4 hours, and noon is busy, with a line.

Skip it if you cannot stand a lunch queue; the line at noon is part of the deal. One diner saw a cash-only sign in October 2026 and another paid by scan in September. Parking is in the compound.

Old City: Chada

Chada is the vegetarian pick, and the dish to order is the veggie khao soi. Portions are large, so one dish is a meal, and a diner paid THB 50 to 70 a dish in September 2026. It is at 136/5 Ratchapakhinai Road and open 9 AM to 8 PM daily.

Skip it if you want meat: the kitchen is vegetarian, and the khao soi here is the veggie one.

South of the moat: B Samcook

B Samcook is the evening out, and a diner paid THB 1,120 a head for the set meal in October 2026. A guitarist or singer plays during dinner. The kitchen adapts for vegetarians and allergies.

It is open Tuesday to Sunday, 11 AM to 8:30 PM, and closed on Monday. You will find it at 5 Kamphaeng Din 3 Alley in Haiya.

Skip it for a quick solo bite. At THB 1,120 a head, this is a night out, not a lunch stop.

Nimman: Huen Phen

Huen Phen is the easy Northern meal in Nimman, and its khao soi is rich. For the full Northern table, the khantoke set is THB 399; the nam prik ong chilli dip is THB 65. It is on Nimmanhaemin Road Lane 5 and open 11 AM to 10 PM daily.

Skip it if you want fire. The flavours are mild enough for foreign guests, which suits most visitors and bores chilli fans.

Santitham: Khoei

Khoei is the full Northern table, and its menu lists hang lay pork curry at THB 105, crab paste THB 109 and the green chilli dip with steamed vegetables THB 95. Boiled local chicken in fish sauce broth is THB 159 for a half and THB 295 for a whole. These prices exclude VAT.

The 5-6 PM rush puts a queue at the door, so book on 093-138-5553. It is open from 8 AM to midnight daily, at 14 Santitham Road.

Skip it if you are hungry and in a hurry. At busy times mains can take 40-50 minutes to arrive.

Chang Phueak: Khao Soi Maesai

Khao Soi Maesai is the lunch for chicken, beef or pork khao soi. At lunch you take a buzzer or queue card and wait; one diner waited roughly 15 minutes at peak lunch on a Monday, another 45 minutes at 1 PM. A diner paid THB 65 for khao soi with a drumstick in October 2026. It is in 1 Ratchaphuek Alley.

It is open 8 AM to 4 PM and closed on Sunday. A diner who arrived late found the khao soi sold out in October 2026. Paid parking opposite was THB 20 an hour or THB 30 for 2 hours for one diner.

Skip it if you need air-conditioning: the shop runs on fans.

Suthep side: Han Teung

Han Teung is the Northern table on the Suthep side. Khao soi is THB 69 with chicken and THB 89 with beef or crispy pork, and hung lay pork curry is THB 89. Reviews steer you to the starter set of chilli dips with crab paste, and there is an air-conditioned room.

It is open 10 AM to 4 PM and 5 to 9:30 PM daily, in Suthep. Skip the khantoke set, THB 299, if you are dining alone: it is a sharing meal.

Wat Ket: Khao-So-i

Khao-So-i is the rich khao soi east of the river. It is at 430 Charoen Rat Road (ถนน เจริญราษฎร์) in Wat Ket and open 9 AM to 9 PM daily.

Skip it for a cheap bowl: one diner paid THB 258 for a dish in October 2026, before a 10% service charge. Skip the weekend lunch too; one diner waited 15 minutes on a Sunday.
